About Us

OUR STORY…

With all the uncertainty in the market place and in particular the automobile industry it is important for the general public to know that Ford Motor Company and its premium brand Lincoln-Mercury are on steady ground and will be here for you in the future.

Ford Motor Company stands independent from the rest. Unlike GM and Chrysler who have taken government bailout money, and other automobile manufacturers from around the world which have received their own government aid; including Honda and Toyota who took money from the Japanese government.

OUR QUALITY...

Ford and its premium brand Lincoln-Mercury quality ratings are in a dead heat with both Toyota and Honda and their premium brands Lexus and Acura. Lincoln and Mercury are rated among the highest in initial quality by J.D. Power and Associates. Consumer report had 16 Ford and Lincoln-Mercury products on its "Recommended Buys" list for 2008.

OUR SAFETY...

Fifteen 2009 Ford and Lincoln-Mercury vehicles are rated top safety picks by the insurance institute for highway safety (IHS) more than any other automaker.

OUR GREEN...

Ford Motor Company has led in environmentally friendly manufacturing for years, and has also led the way in focusing on sustainability.  The 2010 Mercury
Milan Hybrid was recently rated by the EPA at 41 mpg city, 8 mpg better than the Toyota Camry Hybrid.  The 2009 Mercury Mariner gets better fuel economy than the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV.  The 2010 Mercury
Milan gets better fuel economy than both the Camry and Accord.  The Lincoln MKZ gets better fuel economy than the Lexus ES and Mercedes C Class.  This summer Ford will introduce breakthrough technology in internal combustion engines in the Lincoln MKS with the Eco Boost, which delivers V-8 performance with 6 cylinder fuel economy.  This technology will be used extensively across the board in the near future making Lincoln-Mercury an even more high performance, high economy brand.

OUR HISTORY...

The Grant family of State Motors has an affiliation with Ford Motor Company dating back to 1919 when M. J. Grant became a distributor of Ford Motor Vehicles in South Weare, NH.  We've had various franchises over the years but have been exclusive to Lincoln-Mercury since the franchise was formed in 1946.  This makes State Motors one of the two oldest and original Lincoln-Mercury dealers in the country.  We've been through the great depression, world war, 1973 Arab Oil Embargo and many other social and economic perils, and now this.  We believe with hard work, dedication, a belief in American ingenuity and Ford Motor Company we will evolve stronger and more viable than ever before.
In 1997 Stanley Grant sold the company to his two sons Gregory and Douglas. Like their father, both worked their way up through the departments of the company and now share the duty of co-dealers. Gregory is the President and General Manager and Douglas is the Vice-President and General Sales Manger. State Motors, Inc has a colorful past and attributes a great deal of its success to hard work, loyal dedicated employees and clients (many now third generation clients). Stop by some day to view our new line up of Lincoln and Mercury or pre-owned Vehicles, visit our service department or just take the history walk down the hall of the dealership where you will see pictures from the beginning in South Weare.

OUR COMMUNITY...

Recently, retired dealer Stanley Grant received recognition from the Manchester Kiwanis Club for 50 years of consistent active participation raising funding for several local charities.  In fact we have always given back to help others in our community.  We contribute to and are actively participating members of the Manchester New Car Dealers Charitable Organization, donating over a quarter of a million dollars to local people in need in the last ten years.

OUR PEOPLE...

Our people make the difference.  We employ twenty seven full time employees, providing them and their family's professional wages and benefits including comprehensive healthcare and retirement.  We have many loyal and dedicated employees.  Our most experienced active employee is Bob Watson, our parts and service director with 59 years here.  The guy behind the scenes that keeps everything running smoothly is John Nault our controller with 19 years of service.  And, even though our employee's average service is nine and a half years we've made some wonderful additions to the staff over the last couple of years, namely our parts manager Bob Champagne and our service manager Tom Powers.  Our clients tell us buying an automobile here is a pleasure and great experience thanks to an outstanding experienced sales team.  Bottom line, we're proud of all our people and the jobs they do.  That could be why State Motors consistently ranks among the best in Customer Satisfaction for both Sales and Service.  Oh, I can't forget we are still owner operated.  My brother Doug and I bought the business from our father Stanley Grant when he retired in 1997 and one of us is always here, for you!

So that's our story, and if you're in the market for a new automobile think "Buy American", "Buy Lincoln-Mercury" and if your not in the market right now that's fine and know we'll be here for you in the future.

Thanks for reading, we hope to earn your business again in the future.
